It was a documentary ...I liked "Spellbound" better. It was a documentary and not a fictional story, so different genre and story arc. "Spellbound" doesn't have that underpriveleged child from the ghetto tug to your heart-strings but I found myself on the edge of my seat nervous as all get-out. I think my stomach hurt afterwards in that roller coaster ride sort of way when your nerves do you in. And all for a spelling bee. Who knew?<BR/><BR/>Granted I only partly watched "Akeelah", in the way that I do when m wants to see a movie and I'm just not in the mood or have the time and it's on in the background and I form lots of opinions about it based on about 20 minutes worth of total viewing information.
